Hajj pilgrims spend the Day of Arafah, 9th Dhul Hijjah, in Arafat plains and perform Wuquf e Arafa which is the most critical part of Hajj. Pilgrims spend around 15-20 hours in Arafat, depending on their group’s schedule.

The latest pictures and reports from Arafat show that preparations are in full swing to develop the tent city of Arafat, where the pilgrims stay during the day of Arafah.

As you can see, the work is fast in progress to set up these tents before Arafat Day 2023 arrives on 27th June 2023 in Saudi Arabia.

As you can see, the pilgrims were resting comfortably on their sofa cum beds in air-conditioned camps.

Considering you’re there for prayers and stay only for less than 20 hours, these are pretty comfortable settings.

What Are The Facilities In Arafat Tents During Hajj

The facilities in Arafat tents vary according to the pilgrim’s Hajj category or Maktab.

There are four main Maktab categories based on which the pilgrims are facilitated during Hajj

  • Category A – VIP services, comfortable air-conditioned and carpeted tents in Arafat and Mina with sofa cum bed, pillows, quilts, and dining facilities. In addition, spacious walkways, lawns, buffets, and other top-of-the-line facilities.
  • Category B – Excellent services, comfortable air-conditioned and carpeted tents in Arafat and Mina with sofa cum bed, pillows, quilts, and dining facilities.
  • Category C – Good services, reasonable airconditioned and carpeted tents.
  • Category D – Reasonable services, comfortable tents with room coolers.

The main structure of Araft tents is the same for all categories. However, the most expensive categories (A and B) are closer to Muzdalifah and have superior services inside.
