Rajab & Shaban Ki Dua For Reaching Ramadan

Ramadan is such a blessed time of the year that Rasoolullah ﷺ and his Sahaba used to eagerly wait for it several months in advance.

In this article, we’ll share a Dua that we should read at the start of Rajab and during Shaban to ask Allah SWT to help us reach the month of Ramadan.

Please share it with your friends and family.

Rajab Ki Dua Before Ramadan With Translation

As soon you sight the new moon of the month of Rajab, read the following Dua

“اَللّٰھُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْ رَجَبَ وَشَعْبَانَ وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ”

Transliteration

English Translation

O Allah! Bless us during Rajab and Shaban and make us reach Ramadan.

Urdu Translation

Rajab ki dua ka Urdu tarjuma ye hai

Aay Allah! Hamaray Rajab aur Shaban Main Barakat Ata Farma Aur Hamay Ramadan Tak Pohncha

How To Read This Dua In Shaban?

During Shaban, you can read this Dua by removing Rajab from it.

“اَللّٰھُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْ شَعْبَانَ وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ”

When Should You Read The Dua To Reach Ramadan?

Scholars say that we should start reading this Dua from the moment we see the moon for the month of Rajab. Throughout Rajab and Shaban, we should frequently ask Allah Taala to keep us safe and preserve us for Ramadan.

The month of Ramadan is such a huge blessing and has so many virtues that missing it or not being able to fully benefit from it is very unfortunate.

This is why we read this dua to fully benefit from Ramadan.

Is This An Authentic Dua From Hadith?

There are questions over this Dua’s authenticity. Many scholars say it is incorrect to associate this dua with the Prophet ﷺ.

However, it has been narrated frequently by scholars with a decent chain of references.

So, the middle path is this.

Since the meaning of this dua is correct and desirable, we should frequently read it during Rajab and Shaban.

However, we should not associate it with the Prophet ﷺ because it is not clear if these were his words or the words of a companion or scholars later on.
