Can you kiss your wife or husband while fasting in Ramadan?
As a general rule, there’s nothing wrong with kissing your spouse while fasting.
However, there are a few conditions where kissing can break your fast.
- If you lock lips with your spouse and kiss so passionately that their oral fluids enter your mouth.
- If kissing passionately leads to sexual intercourse.
- If your wife is wearing lipstick and it enters your mouth while kissing her.
So, here’s what you should do.
Avoid kissing your spouse while fasting because fasting teaches us self-discipline and sexual control. If you want to show affection, kiss each other on the cheeks or forehead.
Plus, if you’re young and easily lose control of yourself, don’t kiss each other at all because it might lead to sexual intercourse which obviously breaks your fast.
So, in short, kissing doesn’t break your fast. But it can, if you’re not careful.
