Does passive smoking break your fast in Islam?

We know that smoking breaks your fast.

But what about passive smoking? If someone else is smoking around us and we inhale the cigarette smoke, does that break your fast as well?

Does Your Ramadan Fast Become Invalid Because of Passive Smoking?

Passive smoking does NOT break your fast as long as it is unintentional. For example, if you’re in a meeting room or any place where someone else is smoking, it’s impossible not to inhale the smoke.

So, that does not break your fast.

However, if you intentionally inhale cigarette smoke to ease your addiction or to enjoy it, your fast will break immediately.

You will need to make up for this fast after Ramadan. But you won’t have to keep the 60 penalty fasts.
