Women have a special status in Islam.
Islam not only gives mothers, daughters, and sisters importance in every matter but also protects their rights and negates any pre-Islamic malpractices.
This is why Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has called daughters a blessing and mothers a source of paradise for their children.
In this article, we’ll share several quotes from the Holy Quran and the Hadith of Rasoolullah ﷺ about the blessings of daughters in Islam, the reward for raising them well, and the rights that Islam has given to women.
This is enough to debunk all the myths and propaganda of the international media against Islam that portrays it as a backward religion that suppresses women and doesn’t like them.

Hadith About First Child Baby Girl In Islam
Daughters are the most precious gifts of Allah SWT. This is why He gifted his most beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with four beautiful daughters (Zainab, Ruqayya, Umm e Kulsoom, and Fatima).
Prophet Muhammad treated his daughters with utmost love and respect and commanded his followers to do the same.
For example, it was a practice of the Prophet that when he brought something home to eat, he would first give it to his daughters.
However, there’s a popular hadith attributed to Prophet Muhmmad ﷺ about the virtues of women whose firstborn is a daughter.
“Amongst the blessing of a woman is that the firstborn be a girl.”
Unfortunately, most scholars agree this is a fabricated hadith.
However, we already have so many authentic hadiths and sayings of Prophet Muhammad on the blessings of daughters and raising daughters in Islam that we don’t need to rely on such weak narrations.
The Reward For Raising Daughters In Islam In Hadith
Islam championed women’s rights at a time when Arab tribes routinely buried their daughters alive, considering them a curse.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ revolutionized that society by calling daughters the most blessed prize by Allah SWT.
Instead of considering daughters a burden, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ gave glad tidings to anyone who raised their daughters with love and respect.
Uqbah bin Amir said, I heard the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) say:
“ مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ ثَلاَثُ بَنَاتٍ فَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَأَطْعَمَهُنَّ وَسَقَاهُنَّ وَكَسَاهُنَّ مِنْ جِدَتِهِ – كُنَّ لَهُ حِجَابًا مِنَ النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ”
“Whoever has three daughters and is patient towards them, and feeds them, gives them to drink, and clothes them from his wealth; they will be a shield for him from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.’ (Source)
In another hadith, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that the same reward is for the person who has only one daughter and raises her with respect and love.
So, if you’ve been blessed with a baby girl, you have a chance to earn Allah’s mercy in this world and the hereafter by giving her a beautiful name, holding her aqiqah, treating her with love, and raising her with kindness to become a successful person.
Being Sad On Daughter’s Birth Is the Way Of Non-Believers, Not Islam
Before Islam, the people in the Arabian peninsula felt humiliated and cursed if their firstborn was a daughter.
The Holy Quran describes their emotions in detail in Surah Nahl, Ayah 58 and 59.
“When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!“
“He hides himself from the people because of the bad news he has received. Should he keep her in disgrace, or bury her ˹alive˺ in the ground? Evil indeed is their judgment!”
In short, they felt devastated if they had a baby girl.
But Allah SWT says in the Quran that we bless people with sons and daughters and keep some of you childless.
“To Allah ˹alone˺ belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates whatever He wills. He blesses whoever He wills with daughters, and blesses whoever He wills with sons,
or grants both, sons and daughters, ˹to whoever He wills˺, and leaves whoever He wills infertile. He is indeed All-Knowing, Most Capable.” (Surah Shuara, 49 & 50)
Islam changed that completely and termed daughters as the biggest blessings of Allah. Through his actions and teachings, Prophet Muhammad slowly changed the Arab culture until people realized that daughters and sons were both from Allah, and as parents, it was their job to raise them well.
The Benefits Of Having Daughters And Baby Girls In Islam
If you’re a parent to a baby girl, you are blessed in many ways. There are numerous benefits of raising daughters that you should remember, and thank Allah SWT for this gift.
1. It Is A Sunnah To Raise Daughters
Raising daughters with love, respect, and care is a Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. You cannot follow this sunnah unless Allah SWT blesses you with a daughter. This means it is not in your hands, and if Allah has blessed you with a baby girl, He wants you to follow this Sunnah and get closer to His Prophet ﷺ.
2. Rasining Daughters With Love Is a Ticket To Jannah
We’ve already discussed the hadith that mentions how raising daughters according to Islamic teachings is a sure way to enter paradise.
So, if you’re tested in raising daughters or face difficulties because of them, don’t be sad and remember the reward waiting for you.
3. Daughters Are Blessings
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ termed daughters as a blessing of Allah SWT.
A family that has daughters is truly blessed and a happy place. So enjoy this beautiful gift of Allah SWT and take care of it.
4. Daughters Are Loving And Caring
If you raise your daughters with honor and kindness, they’ll grow up to become successful individuals. But they’ll still be loving and caring because daughters have unconditional love for their parents.
They’ll sacrifice everything for you and always be there in your time of need. So cherish them and be proud of them.
5. Daughters Make You A Better Man
As a father of a daughter, I feel my personality has improved because of my child. We have a strong bond which has helped me heal as a person and understand the complexities that women face in their day-to-day lives. I’ve become more empathetic and try to treat all women with honor and respect because of my daughter.
I even know a person who had a lifelong addiction to pornography, but he fully recovered from it when he had a daughter.
How? he said I suddenly thought that the girls I stare at in porn movies are also someone’s daughters. And I would never want my daughter to be in that position. Then why am I looking at someone else’s daughter like that and taking advantage of her.
This made him quit porn and become a much more productive person.
So, cherish your daughters. They’re a gift from Allah.
The Rights Of Daughters In the Quran And Hadith
Islam is by far the most progressive religion when it comes to women’s rights. Imagine the backward Arab societies of Prophet Muhammad’s time and now look at these rights that Islam gave women as mothers, daughters, and sisters.
1. Right to Life and Respect
Daughters, like sons, should be kept safe and respected in their families. For instance, if there are both sons and daughters in a family, no one should hurt or disrespect any of them. Just like a dad makes sure his son is safe, he should do the same for his daughter.
2. Right to Inheritance
Daughters have the right to get a share of their parents’ money or property when they pass away. So, if a father has both sons and daughters, he should leave something for his daughters in his will, not just for his sons. This way, everyone gets their fair share.
3. Right to Education
Daughters should be allowed to go to school and follow their dreams, just like sons. Parents should support their daughters’ education. Think of it as a girl who loves school and wants to be a teacher. Her parents help her go to school just like they would if she were a boy.
4. Right to Be Treated Well
Daughters deserve to be treated kindly and with respect. In a loving family, when a daughter has a problem, her parents and siblings listen and try to help. They don’t treat her badly or ignore her feelings.
5. Right to Choose Marriage
Daughters can choose who they want to marry. While parents can give advice, they shouldn’t force their daughters to marry someone they don’t like, as long as the person is a good Muslim. Imagine a young woman who wants to marry and knows she can choose her husband.
6. Right to Financial Support
Daughters should get financial help when they need it. A father should happily spend on his daughter’s food, clothing, and other day-to-day needs just like he’d do for his sons.
7. Right to a Safe Home
Daughters should feel safe at home. Parents should protect their daughters from harm or danger. In a loving family, everyone, including daughters, feels safe and secure.
8. Right to Islamic Learning
Daughters have the right to learn about Islam, just like their brothers. Parents should teach them how to pray and understand Islam’s teachings.
9. Right to a Good Marriage
Daughters should be able to choose a husband who treats them well. Parents should support their daughters in finding a good partner. Imagine a girl who wants to marry a kind and respectful man, and her parents help her find the right person.
10. Right to Love and Support
Daughters deserve love and support from their parents. In a caring family, parents show love, give hugs, and comfort their daughters when they’re sad. They let them know they’re loved. This helps daughters grow into confident and happy individuals.
Quran o Hadith Main Beti Ki Fazilat
Betiya Allah Taala Ki Azeem naimat hain.
Beti Allah Ki Rehmat Hadees
Beti bay shak Allah ki rehmat hai kyu ke iski parwarish par Allah Taala ki taraf se jannat ka wada hai.
Lekin ye baat jo mashhoor hai ke hadees main Rasoolullah ﷺ ne beti ko rehmat aur betay ko nemat kaha, to aisi hadees mojud nahi.
Haan ye zarur hai ke Ap ﷺ ne bei ke sath husn e sulook ki bohat fazeelat bayan farmaee hai aur khud aisa karke bhi dikhaya.
Pehli Aulaad Beti Ki Paidaish Par Hadith
Ek hadees mashhoor hai ke jis aurat ki pehli aulaad beti ho to woh ba barkat hai.
Mafhoom ke lehaz se to ye baat sahi hai.
Lekin Ulama ne farmaya ke aisi koi hadees mojud nahi balkay ye puranay zamanay ke logo ka qol hai.
Wesay bhi, jab betio ke baray main sahih hadees itni ziada mojud hain to phir hamay aisi kamozor riwayat ka sahara nahi lena chahye.
Beti Ki Achi Tarbiyat Karne Ki Fazeelat
“Jis shakhs ki 3 betia ho ya teen behnay ho aur woh unke sath husn e sulook ka maamla karay, unke sath acha bartao rakhay, aur unke wujud ko apne liye zillat ka sabab na samjhay, aur unki achi tarbiyat o parwarish karay, to is amal ki wajah se woh jannat main dakhil hoga” (Source)
Is hadees se wazay hai ke betio ke sath husn e sulook kis qadar ehmiyat rakhta hai.
Khud Rasoolullah ﷺ apni beti Hazrat Fatima ke liye ikram main kharay ho jatay aur unkei peshani ka bosa lete, unko apni jaga pe bithatay.
Ye ikram tha jo woh sab ko karke batatay thay ke betia muhabbat aur izzat ke laiq hain.
Islam Main Beti Kay Huqooq
Islam ne betio ko bay shumar huqooq diye hain. Un main se kuch ye hain.
Wirasat Ka Haq
Islam ne betio ko baap ke intiqal ke baad uski wirasat main haq dia hai. Ye haq Islam se pehle aurat ke paas nahi tha.
Aur ye itna zaruri haq hai ke agaqr koi bhai apni behen ko wirasat main haq nahi deta to uski tamam nekia zaya honay ka khatra hai aur roz e qayamat uska saht hisab hoga.
Is liye beti chahay shadi shuda ho ye ghair shadi shuda, jab bhi baap ka intiqal hoga usko pura hissa mile ga wirasat main.
Marzi Aur Pasand Se Shadi Ka Haq
Shohar Ke Sath Izzat Se Rehne Ka Haq
Jab beti ki shadi kardi to ab uska haq hai ke woh apne shohar ke sath Islam ki hudood main rehtay huya ek azad zindagi guzaray.
Uski zindagi main maan baap ya behen bhaiyo ko dakhal nahi dena chahye na hi us par bila waja hukum chalanay ki koshish karni chahye.
Baap Ki Muhabbat Aur Shafqat Ka Haq
Jis tarha beto se muhabbat ki jati hai isi tarha betio ka bhi haq hai ke maan baap unse muhabbat karain.
Apni betio se apni muhabbat ka izhar bhi karna chahye, unko batana chahye ke woh kitni pyari hain, aur unko izzat dena chahye.
Yehi Islam ki taleemat hain.
Deeni Aur Dunyawi Taleem Ka Haq
Betio ko taleem se mehroom rakhna bohat bara jurm hai.
Jis tarha beto ko taleem dete hain isi tarha betio ko bhi ilm ki dolat se maala maal karna chahye.
Unko deen ke bunyadi uloom sikhae, namaz ka tarika, durood sharif, dua karna, Allah aur Rasool ke baray main aqeedah waghera.
Isi tarha dunyavi taleem bhi dain takay woh na sirf confident insan banay balkay apne bacho ki bhi achi tarbiyat kar sakay.
Baap Ki Zindagi Main Bhaio Ke Barabar Har Nemat Pe Haq
Wirasat main beti ka haq beto se kam hota hai. Is main Allah Taala ki bohat si hikmatain hain.
Lekin baap ki zindagi main jab koi cheez beto aur betio main taqseem ki jae to barabar ki jaegi.
Yani agar beto ke liye kuch khanay ko lae to betio ko bhi utna hi dain. Isi tarha agar koi toys lae to beto aur betio dono ko same dain.
Yehi Islam ki taleem hai.
